Senior Instructional Designer
Amy Pinkerton, MA, is a senior instructional designer at a major U.S. research university. She collaborates with faculty, teaching assistants, and academic staff to design, develop, and evaluate graduate-level courses. In addition, she teaches faculty and teaching assistant development courses at the university.

Amy is deeply committed to the role of assessment in student learning. She frequently works with faculty to refine and strengthen their assessment practices, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and meaningful measurement of student achievement in sustainable ways.

With the growing concern over student use of generative AI tools in assessments, Amy contributed to the development of this course to provide skills and strategies for addressing AI in assessments. Her approach emphasizes real-world applications, authenticity, and distinctly human demonstrations of competency.
